Suggestion

I suggest using an actual evolution algorithm as a screensaver/background. Some sort of simple "laws of physics" would be devised that would allow actual evolution to occur. See a program called Primordial Life for an example. Primordial Life is inadequate because it stops evolving after an hour or so, and the physics and pre-designed "genetics" overly limits both the initial forms and the evolutionary possibilities, but it will give you the idea.

I'm considering working up something on my own, but I thought I'd suggest it to you folks anyway, because I probably won't really do anything with it (my ideas are quite different in underlying form from those of Primordial Life, and I think any really good variant in this genre will have to be fundamentally different internally (without restriction on the size of the "genes" or the number of them, for example).

We were thinking . . . The products you offer are extremely interesting, but unfortunately the design of your website does not compliment the high quality of the products you offer. We would love to create our own desktop. The software is a wonderful idea. One idea we came up with is: We believe you could have a first page with less text, perhaps one strong sentence about the company and an interesting image ie. an evolution interface desktop or even a rotation of desktops which can be simulated by using Flash oir an animated gif. This way the viewer immediately seees the beauty in the options. The font type may be enhanced by using the HexWeb plug-in. Something to really grab the atention of a browser.

Good Luck, P and P and G

I would certainly appreciate ANY feedback from you about your Web Site Desin, HTML Authoring suggestions and the like. If there is time, I'm- tsiwecki@home.com

It would be nice if there was a password feature that limited access to individual desktops. This would be a great use for multiple desk tops. A person could have a general desktop with links to other tesktops. When the link to these desktops was activated a password screen would pop-up. Of course some of the features for the desktop would then be limited.

Suggestion

It would be a good idea to be able to asign "hot keys" to icons on the desktops or at least "hot keys" to switch between the diferent desktops. Also it would be good to be able to add photos or other graphics to the desktops to use as background(on top of the desktop background) for diferent groups of icons, I already tryed to do this by setting a photo as an icon, but I can't place other icons on top of it.(it doesn't let me do it). Also the program should let you use the original "Windows" windows for files and folder browsing as some people may not like the ones that come with the program. Evolution is a great program and it would be good to add some more little extras as mentioned above to make a complete and better replacement for the Windows one...Good Luck... Please e-mail me with any feedback at miltonivan@yahoo.com I only have the "trial" version but I'm testing all the features on it(I'm a "desktop customizer" freak) and I'll write you again if I come up with any other suggestions.

First of all, I love this product!! I've tried several shell switchers and this is by far the cleanest way to get the interface I want..

I'm trying to use evolution as a sort of mp3 jukebox.... basically, I grab the album graphics off of amazon.com, make them icons in evolution, and associate them with the mp3's for the given album (an evolution playlist).

Only problem is there's no easy way to get at the individual songs -- yes, I know you can right-click and then select view files in playlist, but I mean simple enough for my non-computer literate friends to figure out....

Whereas the single click would just play the playlist, something as simple as making a double-click on a playlist bring up the list of files would be great!

As soon as that's in there, I will definately be registering this software, as it's a great product....

Also, another idea: How about letting the user switch desktops (back/next) simply be dragging the mouse to far left and far right edges of the screen? (even neater: make the old desktop "slide" off, and the new one "slide in"..

I've also run into some strange errors such as "out of storage"....

RE: FREE HOTDISPATCH OFFICEFRONTS 1.0

A HotDispatch OfficeFront is an online office for selling services that can be delivered entirely via the web, such as technical answers, pre-written code and custom development. Think of an OfficeFront as the services equivalent of an online storefront: a place to sell services, not goods. Your OfficeFront is a "transaction-enabled home page" through which you can:

* Market and sell your expertise by receiving and responding to questions and RFPs

* Market and sell your intellectual property (IP) in the form of digital goods: shareware, applications, designs, and technical papers

* Market and sell professional services associated with your IP, such as customizing software

* Receive payments for all the above activities through the HotDispatch global payment processing system

Setting up an OfficeFront takes less than 15 minutes. List the skills in your profile. Upload an unlimited amount of IP content that you've developed to give away or sell. HotDispatch will list both your OfficeFront and your uploaded content in fully searchable directories on our site. And each OfficeFront has a unique fixed address that you can use to publicize your offerings. Welcome to the dot.com economy!

The first release of OfficeFronts is FREE.

To get yours, go to http://hotdispatch.com/officefronts.html

I think this a whole new concept of desktop and I think it's very creative! You guys have done a great job. Unfortunately, this shell extension replies heavily on the original Windows environment, especially when users try to lunch windows programs and browsers. THis makes me feel like that I'm switching back and forth between windows and evolution. As a result, evolution doesn't work like an integrated system environment, but rather a new way to lunch program or manage files. This makes the evolution environment looks very "sluggish".

I can fully understand the difficulties involve in integrating different windows applications into the evolution environment, this is no perfect world........

Anyway, all I want to say is, you guys have done a great job =)

have u seen the feature on win 2000 and nt4?

the lock screen feature?

well if u was able to make ur evolution product REPLACE on install the explorer, you could make it so u could lock the screen

and also password protect option for linkable icons would be VERY good, then u would get internet cafe places probably trying to buy ur product, i am going to start a cyber cafe very soon

i liked ut product ages ago, about a year back, BUT u had no security stuff, for icons we needed to be placed on...

so we had to stick with standard windows..

Sirs,

I am thoroughly disappointed with the customer support I have received so far. I love your product, and I feel that you are offering it at an great price.

I have time invested in learning and setting it up and I have no technical complaints. My complaint is about the manner of buying life4s9 and it has been over 16 hours and I have yet to rx my passcode.

I really like this product and I'm upset that I may be locked out of the product even though I made an honest attempt to purchase and register it before the trial period has expired.

To compound the frustration level there's no direct number or email address for customer service to help resolve the issue. I feel as an potential customer, the whole purchase process should be quicker so in the future I won't have to waste time writing. Please help me resolve this issue. My email address is tonywilson409@hotmail.com.

Thanks, tony

Suggestion

Perhaps a 'toggle' for showing/not showing (showing/hiding) desktop icons? thought it'd be cool, so you don't have to use regedit to add a 'NoDesktop' to the huge long path (which i wont list...). If you need the path for the feature, ill be happy to give it to you :) -Peter Brown -Litescript Webdesign -http://litescript.netfirms.com/ev2000/ -^project website^ -http://www.litescript.com -^current website^
